This time of year is very exciting for wedding florists as British flowers start to bloom again and we can once again source our stems from our favourite local growers!
British flowers bring a natural charm and beauty. Each flower has its own season and will reach the peak of its bloom naturally. It’s important to focus on which type of flowers are growing at the time of your wedding and this useful guide will help.
Flowers grown by our incredible British flower farmers are freshly picked and save thousands of air miles. Each flower will have its own natural beauty and will have been selected specially for you to use for your wedding flowers. For the team at Bluebells & Daisies, British flowers transport us back to childhood memories of meadow filled gardens bursting with colour and perfume.

The stems may wriggle around and may not be completely straight and uniform but that’s what gives them character and their uniqueness!
We will shortly be heading into Peony season - these incredible blooms arrive around late April to early July lasting approximately 12 weeks. So let's make the most of them! Blousy frilly petals and the sweetest perfumes makes them the perfect romantic wedding flower.

English Garden roses are another classic wedding flower that reaches its peak and continues throughout the summer months. Staying with the seasons involves flexibility but can achieve the most truly breath-taking flowers.
We are very fortunate to be able to source our British flowers from the lovely Louise at Field & Flowers. Louise has a wealth of experience when it comes to growing stems that nature produces. We are able to champion the varieties of local flowers grown just down the road at her nursery in Catforth, Lancashire through our wedding and shop bouquets.
If you are planning your wedding and would like to know a little more about how to incorporate our beautiful British blooms into your flowers then do get in touch and we can look to the seasons and help and advise the best blooms for you!
